1976 (College Basketball): Indiana completes the perfect season as they defeat Michigan, 86-68, in the National Championship. The Hoosiers easily covered the spread as a 5-point favorite and entered the tournament as the +200 favorite to win it all. Indiana junior center Kent Benson scored 25 points and had 9 rebounds and was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player. The Hoosiers remain as the last men's college basketball team to go undefeated.
1982 (College Basketball): Freshman guard Michael Jordan hits the go-ahead basket for North Carolina to win the National Championship over Georgetown 63-62. The Tar Heels entered the tournament as +220 favorites to win the title but did not cover the spread as 1½-point favorites. James Worthy was 13-for-17 from the field, scoring 28 points and was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.
1990 (NBA): Hakeem Olajuwon records the third quadruple-double in NBA history for Houston in a 120-94 win over the Milwaukee Bucks. Olajuwon had 18 points, 16 rebounds, 10 assists and 11 blocks as the Rockets easily covered the 7-point spread.
1999 (College Basketball): As a 9½-point underdog, Connecticut upsets Duke, 77-74, in the National Championship. Going back to 1965 (as far back as we have point spreads for National Championship games), it's tied with Villanova's victory over Georgeown in 1985 as the largest upset in a National Championship game. Richard Hamilton led the way for the Huskies as he scored 27 points and was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.
