1983 (NFL): "The Mud Bowl" at the Organge Bowl in Miami, FL - after heavy rain and suspect groundskeeping, the Miami Dolphins defeat the New York Jets 14-0 on a field that was a muddy swamp in the AFC Championship game. The Dolphins covered as a 1-point favorite and the game stayed under the total of 38½-points. The teams combined to turn the ball over 9 times and produced only 338 yards from scrimmage. Dolphins linebacker A.J. Duhe, who previously had intercepted just 2 passes in 6 NFL seasons, picked off 3 of Jets quarterback Richard Todd's passes including one in the 4th quarter that he returned for a 35-yard touchdown to put the game out of reach.


1993 (NFL): The Buffalo Bills win their 4th straight AFC Championship after defeating the Kansas City Chiefs 30-13. The Bills covered as a 3-point home favorite and the game went over the total of 38 points. Bills running back Thurman Thomas ran for 186 yards and 3 touchdowns. Buffalo would go on to lose their 4th straight Super Bowl after losing to the Dallas Cowboys by the same score of 30-13.


2015 (NBA): Klay Thompson sets NBA records for points and 3-pointers made in a quarter when he scores 37 points and makes 9 3-pointers in the 3rd quarter of the Golden State Warriors 126-101 victory over the Sacramento Kings. The Warriors covered as a 15½-point home favorite and the game went over the total of 217½-points. Thompson was a perfect 13-for-13 from the field in the quarter as he finished with 52 points on the night.
