1948 (MLB): The Cleveland Indians defeat the Boston Braves 4-3 in Game 6 of the World Series to win their 2nd World Series title in team history. Bob Lemon picked up his 2nd win of the series going 7⅓ innings and giving up 3 runs. The Indians were -155 favorites for the game and entered Game 1 as -260 favorites for the series. Cleveland has made 4 appearances in the Fall Classic since but have not captured another title.


2014 (College Football): In the highest-scoring game ever between two teams in the AP top 10, #5 Baylor beats #9 TCU 61-58. The Bears failed to cover as 7-point home favorites and the game sailed over the total of 66 points. Baylor scored 24 points in the final 11 minutes, including Chris Callahan's 28-yard game-winning field goal as time expired.
