1989 (NBA): The Los Angeles Lakers beat the Phoenix Suns 122-117 in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals and become the first NBA team ever to go through their first, second and third playoff rounds without a loss. The Lakers were 4-point road underdogs and entered Game 1 as -300 favorites to win the series. They would go on to be swept by the Detroit Pistons in The Finals as Byron Scott was injured before Game 1 and Magic Johnson was injured during Game 2 (both hamstring injuries).

1989 (Motor Racing): Entering the race at +400 to win, Emerson Fittipaldi of Brazil wins the 73rd Indianapolis 500 and becomes the first foreign-born winner since 1966. After a crash with All Unser Jr on the 199th lap, Fittipaldi completed the final lap under caution behind the pace car.

2016 (NBA): Facing elimination in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals, Golden State's Klay Thompson knocks down an NBA playoff-record 11 three-pointers to lead the Warriors 108-101 comeback victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Warriors were 3½-point road underdogs and would go on to win series when they defeated the Thunder 96-88 in Game 7.
