About SportsOddsHistory.com

A free archive of historical sports betting odds used by reporters, broadcasters, and researchers.

What is Sports Odds History?

SportsOddsHistory.com is an independent database that compiles and preserves historical sports betting odds—including preseason futures, playoff series prices, NFL closing lines and totals, and season‑long props—across major U.S. leagues and select global events. Our goal is simple: make reliable, historical odds easy to find, cite, and analyze. Media outlets such as ESPN, ABC News, FiveThirtyEight, and Sports Illustrated regularly use and credit our archive in their reporting.

Our story

Sports Odds History began in May 2009 with a search for the Denver Nuggets’ preseason odds to make the NBA Finals. Discovering that archived futures were surprisingly hard to find online, we launched this site to collect and maintain the most popular futures markets in one place.

  • NFL game odds (1978–present): closing odds from Pro‑Football‑Reference.
  • Other pages specify the dataset’s coverage window (for example, MLB playoff series prices from 1903–present, NBA series prices back to 1969, NHL back to 1979).
  • We continuously update pages as new seasons conclude and record methodological notes at the page level. If you spot an error, please let us know—corrections help keep the archive strong.
