1962 (Boxing) Challenger Sonny Liston delivers a first round knockout to Floyd Patterson to claim the heavyweight title. Liston was a -150 favorite for the fight.
1986 (MLB): The Houston Astros clinch the National League West Division title as Mike Scott pitches a no-hitter in Houston's 2-0 victory over the San Francisco Giants. The Astros were -160 home favorites as the year's eventual Cy Young Award winner struck out 13 batter and walked two. It's the first time in MLB history a title has been clinched with a no-hitter.
2006 (NFL): The New Orleans Saints defeat the Atlanta Falcons 23-3 in their first game back in the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina. The Saints were 4-point underdogs and the game went under the total of 45 points. The first score came a minute and a half into the game after Steve Gleason blocked Michael Koenen's punt and was recovered in the end zone by Curtis DeLoatch.
2008 (College Football): Oregon State defeats top-ranked USC 27-21 as running back Jacquizz Rodgers ran for 186 yards and two touchdowns. The Beavers were 24-point home underdgs and the game went under the total of 56 points. It was Oregon State's first victory over a number 1 team since 1967 when they beat the O.J. Simpson-led Trojans 3-0.
