1990 (NBA): As 7½-point favorites, the Boston Celtics set an NBA single-game playoff scoring record by defeating the New York Knicks 157-128 in Game 2 of their first round playoff series. Down 2-0, the Knicks though would win the final three games of the best-of-5 series to advance to the next round. New York entered the series as +325 underdogs as they would lose in the next round to the eventual NBA Champion Detroit Pistons.

2012 (NBA): With the #1 seeded Chicago Bulls up by 12 points, 2010-11 NBA MVP Derrick Rose tears his ACL with about a minute to play in the 4th quarter of Game 1 of the playoffs against the Philadelphia 76ers. Chicago covered the spread as 8½-point favorites as they went on to win 103-91. Entering the series as +900 underdogs, the 76ers would take advantage of Rose's injury and win the series in six games.
