1953 (Boxing): As a -300 favorite, Rocky Marciano KOs Jersey Joe Walcott in the 1st round at Chicago Stadium. The fight was a rematch in which the undefeated Marciano won the heavyweight title the previous September. This would turn out to be Walcott's final fight as the 39 year-old finished his career 51-18-2.


1990 (NBA): The Phoenix Suns defeat the LA Lakers 106-103 in Game 5 and clinch their Western Conference Semifinals best-of-7 series. The Suns were 9-point underdogs for the game and entered Game 1 as +500 series underdogs. The Lakers had won the Western Conference in 7 of the previous 8 seasons and were favored to reach the Finals again as the #1 seed. Phoenix went on to lose in the Conference Finals to #3 seed Portland in 6 games.


2016 (Golf): World #1 and reigning PGA Champion Jason Day wins his first Players Championship and third title in the last two months. Day was 10-1 to win the tournament as he led wire-to-wire and won by 4 strokes ahead of Kevin Chappell.
