Five Teams That Could Look Very Different at the End of the NBA Offseason

The NBA offseason is nearly upon us, and that means a world of change is coming to the NBA. There are several things that have already been established, namely that Victor Wembenyama is heading to San Antonio. But so much is in flux, and there are many teams whose betting odds could look entirely different going into next year.

Before you lay down bets on any major NBA betting Canada operators, wait until this offseason kicks into gear. There are five teams that have a lot of potential to flip the script and look very different going into next season; let's look at who they are.

Toronto Raptors

The Toronto Raptors might be the team likeliest to undergo a substantial transformation this offseason. After a massive letdown of a season, the Raptors appear poised to change directions. Fred VanVleet is a free agent who will likely walk, Pascal Siakam could be dealt, and OG Anunoby could finally be traded after years of rumors. The Raptors could move up in the draft and embrace a rebuild around Scottie Barnes, starting a new era in Toronto. Whatever happens, there are a lot of changes that will likely play out in Toronto.

Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers suffered yet another defeat in the first two rounds of the playoffs and now look like they need to find a new direction. James Harden is a free agent and could definitely walk, and this would leave the 76ers searching. They already made one big change by letting go of Doc Rivers and signing Nick Nurse. But there are more changes to come. The 76ers could move Tobias Harris to open up more cap space, and if Harden leaves, they could actually acquire some real talent. Expect this team to be a player in the trade and free agency market.

Portland Trailblazers

Portland finds itself slightly caught between two timelines. On the one hand, they have young players like Shaedon Sharpe, Anfernee Simons, and the third-overall pick in the draft this year. But on the flip side, they can't embrace a rebuild with All-NBA point guard Damian Lillard scoring 30+ points every night. So, what do they do? Early reports say they might flip the pick and a young player and try to add whichever top wing becomes available. But will they find a willing partner? Or will they look to move Lillard and start the next era in Portland?

Houston Rockets

Houston has been flat-out terrible since James Harden left in 2021. They have stockpiled some solid young talent in Jalen Green, Jabari Smith Jr., and Alperen Sengun. But now, it seems they are looking to start winning again. They have been linked to Harden through free agency, and if he comes back, he will want some top players to join him. The Rockets could be players for Jaylen Brown, Pascal Siakam, and any of the other top players on the trade market, as they have the cap space and young chips to make a move happen. They seem like to focus on a move toward competitiveness.

Dallas Mavericks

Luka Doncic is a special player, but the Mavericks know they need to put more around him to get the job done. They made a large splash trade at the deadline with Kyrie Irving, but that couldn't elevate the team to a playoff spot in a massive letdown of a year. Irving is a free agent, but whether he returns or not, this team will look different. Dallas is going to maneuver a ton in free agency and on the trade market to try and build a team that can really contend. They have even been linked to LeBron James already.
