1995 (NBA): Mario Elie's 'Kiss of Death' three-pointer with 7.1 seconds left in the game gives the Houston Rockets a 115-114 victory over the Phoenix Suns in Game 7 of the Western Conference Semifinal Round series. The Rockets were 5½-point road underdogs and entered Game 1 as +210 series underdogs. They're the first team in 13 years to overcome a 3-1 deficit to win a best-of-7 NBA playoff series (since the 1982 76ers against Boston). The Rockets would go on to sweep the Orlando Magic in the NBA Finals to win back-to-back NBA Championships.
2006 (Horse Racing): Sent off at 13-1, Bernardini wins the 131st Preakness Stakes in 1:54.6. The running of the race was marred when the Kentucky Derby winner, Barbaro, suffered an injury to his right hind leg after a false start, ending his racing career.
2019 (NBA): The Golden State Warriors defeat the Portland Trail Blazers 119-117 in Game 4 of their Western Conference Finals series and complete a sweep to reach the NBA Finals for the 5th consecutive year. They join the 1960s Boston Celtics as the only teams in NBA history to make The Finals in five straight seasons or more. The Warriors entered the season as overwhelming -245 favorites to win the Western Conference and entered the series as -550 favorites to reach The Finals. They would go on to lose to the Toronto Raptors in 6 games in the NBA Finals.
