1972 (NFL): With 22 seconds left and the Pittsburgh Steelers facing a 4th & 10 from their own 40-yard line and trailing 7-6, running back Franco Harris catches 'the Immaculate Reception' after Terry Bradshaw's pass bounces off of Oakland Raiders safety Jack Tatum. Harris would go on to score to give the Steelers an improbable 13-7 victory. Pittsburgh was a 2-point home favorite as they would go on to lose the following week in the AFC Championship to the undefeated Miami Dolphins 21-17.

1982 (College Basketball): Chaminade defeats top-ranked Virginia 77-72 in what some call the biggest upset in college basketball history. There was no point spread made for the game since Chaminade, a private institution in Hawaii, was an NAIA member. The game was played in Honolulu as Virginia was on its way back from Tokyo, where they had played a tournament and won games against Houston and Utah. Chaminade used a fast tempo on offense and often double or triple teamed star Cavalier center Ralph Sampson while on defense. Virginia would go on to lose in the Elite 8 to eventual champion NC State while Chaminade would lose to the College of Charleston in the semifinals of the NAIA tournament.

2012 (NFL): Drew Brees and Tony Romo put on a show as each passes for over 400 yards and combine for 7 touchdown passes in the New Orleans Saints' 34-31 overtime victory over the Dallas Cowboys. The Saints were 3-point road underdogs and the game went over the total of 54½-points. Brees ended the day with 446 yards while Romo had 416 as it was only the 7th game in NFL history where opposing quarterbacks each passed for 400+ yards.
