2001 (Boxing): In a middleweight unification bout, Bernard Hopkins defeats Felix Trinidad by TKO in the 12th round after Trinidad's father entered the ring to stop the fight. Hopkins was a +280 underdog for the fight and improved to 40-2-1 as Trinidad suffered his first loss and fell to 40-1.
2002 (NFL): Shaun Alexander scores 5 first half touchdowns to set an NFL record in the Seattle Seahawks 48-23 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. The Seahawks were a 3-point home favorite and the game went over the total of 44 points. Alexander had 4 rushing touchdowns and an 80-yard TD reception from Trent Dilfer.
2012 (College Football): #9 West Virginia defeats #25 Baylor 70-63 as Mountaineer quarterback Geno Smith throws for 656 yards and ties a Big 12 record with 8 touchdown passes. West Virginia failed to cover as 11½-point home favorites and the game went over the total of 82½-points. Baylor wide receiver Terrance Williams had 314 yards receiving to set a Big 12 record.
