1984 (MLB): In the final game of the regular season, Mike Witt pitches the 9th perfect game in MLB history in the California Angels 1-0 victory over the Texas Rangers. The Angels were a +110 road underdog as Witt struck out 10 on 94 pitches.
2012 (Golf): At Medinah Country Club in Illinois - Europe retains the Ryder Cup after winning 14½ to 13½. Europe was +130 prior to the start of the event as the U.S. blew a 10-6 lead heading into the Sunday singles matches.
2014 (MLB): In the American League Wild Card Game, the Kansas City Royals score two runs in the bottom of the 12th to defeat the Oakland Athletics 9-8. The Royals were +102 home underdogs and the game went over the total of 6½-runs. Kansas City would go on to reach their first World Series in 29 but lose in 7 games to the San Francisco Giants.
