1998 (NBA): Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls play only their second Game 7 during their 1990's dynasty as they defeat Reggie Miller and the Indiana Pacers 88-83 in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Bulls failed to cover as 8-point home favorites and entered Game 1 as -600 favorites to win the series. Chicago would go on to defeat the Utah Jazz in the NBA Finals in 6 games.
2002 (NHL): Dominik Hasek records back-to-back shutouts after the Detroit Red Wings defeat the Colorado Avalance 7-0 in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals. The Red Wings were -120 home favorites as Hasek recorded his 5th shutout in the playoffs and would have another one in the Stanley Cup Finals. At the time it was the most shutouts in a single postseason until Martin Brodeur had seven in the very next year. This was the 5th time in seven years the two squads met in the playoffs but the first that the series favorite won as the Red Wings were -250 to advance (the Avalanche won three of the five matchups).
2007 (NBA): 22 year-old LeBron James scores the final 25 points of the game for the Cleveland Cavaliers in their 109-107 double overtime victory over the Detroit Pistons in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Cleveland was a 5½-point road underdog as they would close out the series in Game 6 two nights later. The Cavaliers entered Game 1 as +270 underdogs to win the series.
2009 (Tennis): As an 18-1 underdog, #23 seed Robin Soderling defeats 4-time defending champion Rafael Nadal in the 4th round of the French Open 6-2, 6-7(2), 6-4, 7-6(2). Nadal, who entered the tournament as a -400 favorite to win the title, had not lost at the tournament since debuting in 2005 - a winning a streak of 31 matches. Soderling would go on to reach the finals but lose in straight sets to Roger Federer.
