1986 (NBA): The Boston Celtics defeat the Houston Rockets 114-97 in Game 6 of the NBA Finals to win their 16th NBA Championship. Boston covered as a 9½-point home favorite as they lost only once all season at home in 51 games. The Celtics entered Game 1 as -700 favorites to win the series as Larry Bird won his second Finals MVP award after averaging 24.0 points, 9.7 rebounds and 9.5 assists per game during the series.

1997 (Tennis): Brazilian Gustavo Kuerten, ranked 66th in the world entering the tournament, wins the first of 3 French Open titles beating 2-time champ Sergi Bruguera 6-3, 6-4, 6-2. Kuerten was a +220 underdog for the match and was part of the 'Field' bet at +1200 entering the tournament to win the title.
2002 (Boxing): Lennox Lewis knocks out Mike Tyson 2:25 into the 8th round in their heavyweight title bout. Lewis was a -220 favorite for the fight in what turned out to be Mike Tyson's final heavyweight title bout.
2002 (Horse Racing): Going off at 70-1, Sarava wins the 134th Belmont Stakes by a half length and becomes the biggest longshot to win the Belmont Stakes. War Emblem, who was bidding to become the first horse in 24 years to win the Triple Crown, finished 8th in the 11 horse field.
