1978 (NBA): Kevin Porter dishes out a then NBA record 29 assists for the New Jersey Nets in their 126-112 home victory over the Houston Rockets. The game was a pick 'em. The record stood for a dozen years until Orlando's Scott Skiles had 30 assists against Denver - a record that still stands to this day.


2008 (Golf): In the 36-hole final, Tiger Woods defeats Stewart Cink 8&7 to win his 3rd WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship. Woods was the overwelming favorite to win the title at +200. It was Woods' 63rd PGA Tour title.


2013 (NASCAR): Jimmie Johnson wins his 2nd Daytona 500 by 0.129 seconds over Dale Earnhardt Jr. Johnson entered the race at +1400 to take the checkered flag. Danica Patrick, who was +2800 to win the race, became the first female to earn pole position in NASCAR's highest circuit and became the first female to finish in the top 10 at the Daytona 500 after finishing 8th.
