The Patriots pulled off the 2nd biggest upset in Super Bowl history as they were a 14-point underdog and the game stayed under the total of 53 points. Giants quarterback Eli Manning threw for 255 yards and 2 touchdows and was named Super Bowl MVP - one year after his brother Peyton won the award. Plaxico Burress' 13-yard touchdown pass from Manning with 35 seconds left in the game proved to be the game-winner. The Giants game-winning drive was kept alive by David Tyree's "helmet catch."

2013 (NFL): As a 4½-point underdog, the Baltimore Ravens defeat the San Francisco 49ers 34-31 to win Super Bowl XLVII. The game went over the total of 47½-points. Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco was named Super Bowl MVP after passing for 287 yards and 3 touchdowns. With the Ravens leading 28-6 early the 3rd quarter, a power outage at the Superdome caused the game to be suspended for 34 minutes. The 49ers scored 17 unanswered points following the break but came up short on their final drive of the game.
