1977 (College Basketball): Marquette's Al McGuire coaches his final game as the Golden Eagles beat North Carolina, 67-59, in the National Championship. The Tar Heels were 3-point favorites entering the game. Junior guard Butch Lee led the Golden Eagles with 19 points and was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.


1990 (NBA): Michael Jordan scores a career-high 69 points (plus a career-high 18 rebounds) on 23-of-27 shooting as the Chicago Bulls defeat the Cleveland Cavaliers 117-113 in overtime. The Bulls were a 3½-point road underdog. Rookie forward Stacey King, who scored one point, famously said "I'll always remember this as the night that Michael Jordan and I combined to score 70 points."


1992 (College Basketball): In what many consider to be the greatest college basketball game of all-time, #1 seed Duke defeats #2 seed Kentucky, 104-103, in overtime to reach the Final Four after Christian Laettner's buzzer-beater. The Wildcats covered the spread as a 7½-point underdog. Laettner led all scorers with 31 points on 10-of-10 shooting from both the floor and the free throw line and had 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.
