1981 (College Basketball): Sophomore guard Isiah Thomas scores 23 points as Indiana defeats North Carolina, 63-50, in the National Championship. The Hoosiers covered as 2-point favorites and the game stayed under the total of 124½-points. Thomas was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player and would enter the NBA draft where he was picked 2nd overall by the Detroit Pistons.


1987 (College Basketball): Keith Smart's baseline jumper with 4 seconds left gives Indiana a 74-73 victory over Syracuse in the National Championship. The Hoosiers failed to cover as 4-point favorites as legendary head coach Bobby Knight won his 3rd and final title. Smart was named the tournament's Most Outstanding player as he finished the game with 21 points and had 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals.


1991 (College Basketball): As a 9-point underdog, Duke ends UNLV's perfect season, 79-77, in the National Semifinal. Junior forward Christian Laettner led the way for the Blue Devils as he scored 28 points and collected 7 rebounds. The Runnnin' Rebels entered the tournament as -167 favorites to win it all as they were bidding to be first team to go undefeated in a season since Indiana in the 1975-1976 season. Two nights later, Duke would go on to win their first National Championship when they beat Kansas, 72-65, as a 3½-point favorite.


2013 (College Basketball): Wichita State becomes the first #9 seed to reach the Final Four after defeating #2 seed Ohio State, 70-66, in the West Regional Final. The Shockers were 5-point underdogs and entered the tournament 66-1 to reach the Final Four. They would go on to lose to Louisville, 72-68, in the National Semifinal.
