1992 (NBA): As 4½-point road underdogs, the Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Phoenix Suns 153-151 in double-overtime in Game 4 of their Conference Semifinal series - the highest-scoring NBA Playoff game ever played. With the total set at 228, the over hit mid-way through the 4th quarter. Suns guard Kevin Johnson led all scorers with 35 points as eight different players scored at least 20 points. The Trail Blazers would wrap up the best-of-7 series in 5 games as they entered the series as -500 favorites to advance.

2013 (Soccer): As a +700 underdog, Wigan Athletic defeats Manchester City 1-0 in the FA Cup Final. Ben Watson's header in stoppage time was the only goal of the game.

2016 (MLB): Washington's Max Scherzer strikes out 20 batters in a 9-inning game, matching the MLB record previously set by Roger Clemens (1986 & 1996), Kerry Wood (1998) and Randy Johnson (2001). The Nationals beat the Detroit Tigers 3-2 as -170 home favorites. Scherzer had an opportunity to set a new record against his former team with two outs in the 9th but catcher James McCann avoids striking out for the 4th time after grounding into a force out at second base to end the game. Scherzer would go on to lead MLB in strikeouts with 284 and earn the 2nd of 3 Cy Young awards.
