1981 (NBA): After being down 3-1 in the series, the Boston Celtics come back from a 2nd half double-digit deficit for the third straight game and defeat the Philadelphia 76ers 91-90 in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The Celtics failed to cover as 3½-point favorites as Larry Bird led the way for the Celtics with 23 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Boston entered the series as -160 favorites in a series that saw five of the seven games decided by 2 points or less.

1986 (Horse Racing): 54 year-old legendary jockey Bill Shoemaker wins his 4th Kentucky Derby aboard Ferdinand, who was 18-1 and won by 2 ¼ lengths.

2007 (NBA): As +1200 series underdogs, the Golden State Warriors become the first #8 seed to defeat a #1 seed in a best-of-7 series as they blow out the Dallas Mavericks, 111-86, in Game 6 of their first round series. The Warriors were 2½-point underdogs for the game as they won by double digits in three of their wins in the series. Since 1988 (as far back as we have NBA series prices) it's the second largest series upset behind only the 1994 Denver Nuggets +1400 upset of the Seattle SuperSonics. Golden State would lose in the next round to the Utah Jazz as +115 series underdogs.
