1989 (Golf): Curtis Strange becomes the frst back-to-back U.S. Open Champion since Ben Hogan in 1951 after winning by 1 stroke over Chip Beck, Mark McCumber and Ian Woosnam. Before the start, Strange was +800 to win the tournament.


2000 (Golf): Tiger Woods shoots a final round 67 (-4) and captures his first U.S. Open title at Pebble Beach by a major championship record-setting 15 strokes over Miguel Angel Jimenez and Ernie Els. Woods was +300 to win the tournament as he would go on to win the next 3 majors to become the only player to win 4 straight major championship golf titles.


2013 (NBA): Facing elimination, Ray Allen hits the tying 3-pointer at the end of regulation to send Game 6 into overtime where the Miami Heat would go on to beat the San Antonio Spurs 103-100 and force a Game 7. The Heat failed to cover as 6½-point home favorites as they would go on to win Game 7 and win back-to-back NBA Championships.


2017 (Golf) Entering the tournament with +3000 odds to win, Brooks Koepka wins his first major championship at the U.S. Open by 4 strokes over Brian Harman and Hideki Matsuyama.
