1997 (Boxing): Roy Jones Jr regains the light heavyweight title after knocking out Montell Griffin 2:31 into the 1st round. Jones Jr, who was a -450 favorite for the fight, had suffered the first loss of his career 5 months earlier to Griffin when Jones Jr was DQ'd for hitting Griffin twice while he took a knee on the canvas to avoid further punishment.


2004 (MLB): Greg Maddux picks up his 300th career victory in the Chicago Cubs 8-4 victory over the San Francisco Giants. The Cubs were -150 road favorites as Maddux would retire with 355 career wins, which is 8th on the all-time list and the most of any pitcher born since 1921.


2007 (MLB): Barry Bonds' solo shot with 1 out in the bottom of the 5th inning off of Mike Bacsik is the 756th home run of Bonds' career as he breaks Hank Aaron's MLB record in the San Franciso Giants 8-6 loss to the Washington Nationals. The Nationals were +135 road underdogs and the game went over the total of 8 runs as Bonds retired at the end of the season and finished his career with 762 home runs.
