1955 (Boxing): In the last fight of his career, heavyweight champ Rocky Marciano improves to 49-0 after knocking out Archie Moore in the 9th round. Marciano was a -400 favorite for the fight.


1996 (College Football): As a 24-point home underdog, Arizona State shocks #1 Nebraska 19-0 to snap the Cornhuskers 26-game winning streak. Sun Devils quarterback Jake Plummer threw for 292 yards and a touchdown as the Cornhuskers were shutout for the first time in the regular season in 23 years.


2008 (NFL): The Miami Dolphins end the New England Patriots' NFL record 21 straight regular season wins with a 38-13 victory. The Dolphins were a 12½-point road underdog and the game went over the total of 37 points. Miami running back Ronnie Brown ran for four touchdowns and passed for another.
