1985 (NFL): The San Francisco 49ers defeat the Miami Dolphins 38-16 to win Super Bowl XIX. The 49ers easily covered as a 3½-point favorite and the game went over the total of 53½-points - the first Super Bowl total that was set over 50 points. Joe Montana was named Super Bowl MVP after throwing for 331 yards and 3 touchdowns and he also ran for 59 yards and a touchdown. 2nd-year Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino made his only Super Bowl appearance and passed for 318 yards, 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions.
1991 (NFL): The Buffalo Bills win the 1st of 4 straight AFC Championships after demolishing the Los Angeles Raiders 51-3. The Bills covered as a 7-point home favorite and the game went over the total of 38 points. The 48-point victory remains as the biggest blowout in Conference Championship history. Buffalo running back Thurman Thomas ran for 138 yards and 1 touchdown while quarterback Jim Kelly threw for 300 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Raiders turned the ball over 7 times, including 5 interceptions by quarterback Jay Schroeder.
2012 (NFL): As an 8-point road underdog, the Baltimore Ravens outscore the New England Patriots 21-0 in the second half and win 28-13 in the AFC Championship. The game stayed under the total of 49½-points. Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco threw for 240 yards and 3 touchdowns while Patriots quarterback Tom Brady passed for 320 yars, 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions. It was Brady's only loss at home in an AFC Championship game during his Patriots' tenure.
2019 (NFL): In the NFC Championship game, Greg Zuerlein's 57-yard field goal in overtime give the Los Angeles Rams a 26-23 victory over the New Orleans Saints. The Rams were a 3-point road underdog and the game stayed under the total of 55 points. The game will be remembered for an obvious pass interference by Rams cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman that the referees did not call on 3rd down with less than 2 minutes left in the game. With the game tied at 20-20, the Saints had to settle for a field goal instead of a 1st & goal at the Rams 5-yard line. The Rams forced overtime with Zuerlein's 48-yard field goal with 15 seconds left in regulation.
