1974 (College Basketball): UCLA's 88-game winning streak comes to an end after a 71-70 loss at #2 Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish were a 4-point underdog. Center Bill Walton led the Bruins with 24 points after missing the previous 3 games with torn ligaments in his lower rib cage. UCLA's previous loss was also on the road at Notre Dame when they lost 89-82 on January 23, 1971. The Bruins would go on to lose to NC State in the Final Four, ending their bid for an 8th straight National Championship.


2002 (NFL): "The Tuck Rule Game" - with under 2 minutes left to play and the New England Patriots behind 13-10 to the Oakland Raiders, Tom Brady's fumble is ruled an incomplete pass and the Patriots go on to win 16-13 in overtime. Bettors had to settle for a push as the Patriots were a 3-point home favorite and the game stayed under the total of 37½-points. Patriots kicker Adam Vinatieri made 2 clutch field goals in the snow - the first one a 45-yarder to send it to overtime and then the game-winning 23-yarder with 6:31 remaining in overtime.


2014 (NFL): In the NFC Championship, the Seattle Seahawks rally from a 17-10 third quarter deficit and defeat the San Francisco 49ers 23-17. The Seahawks covered as a 4-point home favorite and the game stayed under the total of 40½-points. Seattle preserved the win after Malcolm Smith's interception in the end zone off of Colin Kaepernick with 22 seconds left in the game. The Seahawks would go on to win their first Super Bowl after defeating the Denver Broncos 43-8 in Super Bowl XLVIII.
