1957 (College Basketball): #1 ranked North Carolina survives 54-53 in triple overtime over #2 ranked Kansas in the National Championship. The game was played in Kansas City, MO as the Jayhawks entered the game as 3-point favorites. Center Wilt Chamberlain scored 23 points and was named tournament Most Outstanding player despite not playing for the championship team. The Tar Heels finished off the perfect season with a 32-0 record.


1974 (College Basketball): UCLA's bid for an 8th straight National Championship comes to an end after losing 80-77 to NC State in the National Semifinal. The Wolfpack were a 4-point underdog as they were led by sophomore forward David Thompson, who had 28 points and 10 rebounds. NC State would go on to win the National Championship after defeating Marquette 76-64 two nights later as an 11-point favorite.


2006 (College Basketball): #2 seed UCLA scores the final 11 points of the game and defeats #3 seed Gonzaga 73-71 in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA men's basketball tournament. The Zags managed to cover the spread as a 3-point underdog.


2014 (College Basketball): As a 4½-point underdog, #8 seed Kentucky upsets then undefeated #1 seed Wichita State, 78-76, in the second round of the NCAA men's basketball tournament. In a tournament full of upsets, the Wildcats would reach the National Final but fall 60-54 to #7 seed Connecticut.
