1969 (College Basketball): Center Lew Alcindor wins the Most Outstanding Player award for the 3rd consecutive year as UCLA wins their third-straight National Championship by defeating Purdue 92-72. UCLA covered as a 9½-point favorite as Alcindor finished the game with 37 points and 20 rebounds.


1986 (College Basketball): #11 seed LSU becomes the first double-digit seed to reach the Final Four after they beat SEC rival and #1 seed Kentucky 59-57. The Tigers were a 4-point underdog for the game and would go onto lose to eventual National Champion Louisville in the National Semifinal, 88-77.


1992 (College Basketball): As an 11½-point favorite, #1 seed Kansas falls 66-60 to #9 seed UTEP in the second round of the NCAA men's basketball tournament. Miners junior forward Johnny Melvin led all scorers with 18 points and had 5 assists. UTEP would lose 69-67 in the next round to #4 seed Cincinnati as a 7-point underdog.
