1988 (NBA): After scoring 50 points in Game 1, Michael Jordan pours in 55 in the Chicago Bulls 106-101 victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 2 of their first round series. Jordan becomes the first player in NBA history to score 50+ points in consecutive playoff games. The Bulls failed to cover the spread as 5½-point favorites but would go on to win the best-of-5 series in 5 games as they were -300 favorites to win the series.


1991 (MLB): 32 year-old Rickey Henderson breaks Lou Brock's all-time stolen base record of 938 when he steals third base against the New York Yankees in a 7-4 Oakland Athletics victory. Oakland was a -150 home favorite as Henderson finished his 25 year career with 1,406 stolen bases.

Not to be outdone, later that night 44 year-old Nolan Ryan tosses his 7th and final no-hitter in a 3-0 Texas Rangers victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. Ryan struck out 16 as the Rangers were -120 home favorites.


1999 (Horse Racing): Charismatic wins the 125th Kentucky Derby as a 30-1 choice. It was the second Derby win for jockey Chris Antley who won aboard Strike the Gold in 1991.
