1978 (MLB): Bucky Dent's 3-run homer sparks a 4-run 7th inning rally as the New York Yankees go on to defeat the Boston Red Sox 5-4 in the American League East tiebreaker game. The Yankees were -120 road favorites as they would go on to defeat the Los Angeles Dodgers in 7 games to win back-to-back World Series.
1980 (Boxing): Fighting for the first time in over 2 years, 38-year old Muhammad Ali is dominated by Larry Holmes as the fight ends when Ali's trainer, Angelo Dundee, stops the fight after the 10th round. Holmes was a -150 favorite for the fight as Ali blamed a thyroid medication for his poor performance.
1994 (NFL): Father and son coach against each other for the first time in NFL history as Don Shula coaches the Miami Dolphins in their 23-7 victory over son David Shula's Cincinnati Bengals. The Dolphins were 8-point road favorites and the game went under the total of 44½-points.
1999 (College Football): #21 Alabama wins 40-39 in overtime and ends #3 Florida's 30-game home winning streak. The Crimson Tide were 17-point underdogs and the game went over the total of 56 points. Florida Jeff Chandler's missed extra point in overtime would prove to be the difference.
